Life-saving Effect of Cannabis for Seizures Captured by News Crew
It’s widely known that cannabis aids in the treatment of many disabling conditions. One of the biggest breakthroughs has been in the treatment of seizures, especially in children.
Well now that treatment has been caught on camera. In an amazing turn of events, ABC affiliate WFTS in Tampa Bay, Florida was out discussing the use of cannabis with patients. The team seemed to be researching the effects of Florida’s medical marijuana law, which goes into effect this year.
While interviewing Renee Petro, the mother of a teenager suffering from seizures, her son Branden began to show signs that seizure was coming. Quickly, the family lays Branden on the carpet and Petro runs to get his cannabis nose spray.
The rapidity with which is medical takes effect is astounding. Just moments after inhaling the cannabis spray, you can see the medication take effect and the relief and calm that takes over Petro, knowing the medication she just administered is going to help her son. Branden goes to rest on the couch and Petro is able to continue her interview.
According to the video, cannabis has done more for Branden than just aid in his seizures. Because the cannabis nasal spray is so effective for his disability, Petro has been able to ween him off of most of his prescription drugs – many of which cause more health problems.
“Nothing is scarier than what I’ve witnessed as a mother with my child. Nothing is scarier than having to call 911 because my son is pretty much losing his mind from the side effects of his medication, nothing worse than having nine to ten sheriff’s in my home,” Petro said to WFTS. “I am going to make sure he lives the best and happiest life he can period regardless of what that law or this law says. Because, at the end of the day, I’m his mother and I know what’s best for him.”
