Spanish City Set to Regulate Cannabis Clubs
According to a report in Leafly, the Spanish city of Bilbao is set to follow in the footsteps of Barcelona and regulate its cannabis clubs.
The Basque city, home of the architectural wonder that is the Guggenheim Museum, is already home to a dozen cannabis clubs, who are allowed to operate under strict guidelines. However, local government backing leading to regulation, would mark a huge step forward for a country already proving to be a driving force of cannabis acceptance in Europe.
There a few other municipalities in the Basque country who have been privileged to small forms of cannabis regulation, including the city of San Sebastian. However, regulation in Bilbao would show that local governments are willing to embrace cannabis in the provinces largest and most famous city.
